Bird Warranty

All Bird bikes come with a lifetime frame warranty against manufacturing defects.

All Bird frames have a 2 year transferrable warranty against manufacturing defect*. This means that you can sell the bike within 2 years knowing that the warranty will pass to the second owner, boosting resale value for you and safeguarding your buyer against any problems in the future. If you want to transfer your warranty to a new owner, please either call or email us. It is your responsibility to transfer (or make sure the previous owner transfers) the warranty.

Warranties will only be honoured where we have record of the transfer occurring. Only a single warranty transfer is allowed and must be recorded within 2 years of the shipment date for your order, no ‘late’ requests will be accepted.

* Transfers are only allowed to a person residing within the current sales territories allowed by Bird at the time of transfer. Please contact us for a current list. Transfers to and from businesses are not allowed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All aluminium frames will accumulate fatigue over its lifetime and this will vary the depending on the alloy, frame type and amount of use the frame is subject to. Use in competitive events, jumping, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities and other types of non standard use can dramatically shorten the useful life of the frame and we reserve the right to take this into consideration when assessing a warranty claim.

In the event that the failure of the frame is not covered by warranty, we will offer you a discounted replacement frame.

This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of a defective frame and the owner will be responsible for any postage costs, labour and the cost of any additional components required.

2 YEAR TRANSFERRABLE PAINT WARRANTY

The paint and graphics on your Bird bike are provided with a 2 year transferrable warranty against manufacturing defects. Why not longer? Well the reality is we know you’ll love your Bird bike, and will ride it a lot. Riding unfortunately damages the paintwork… that’s a fact. Once damaged it becomes difficult to figure out what’s warranty and what’s not, so we have to limit it to two years, sorry. If you want to keep your bike looking lovely for longer then we recommend a frame tape kit should be applied.

2 YEAR NON-TRANSFERABLE PARTS WARRANTY

The components provided on your Bird bike are provided with a 2 year non-transferrable warranty against manufacturing defects.

What’s not covered?

1) Normal wear and tear

2) Improper assembly when buying a frame only option.

3) Improper follow-up maintenance

4) Installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the bicycle as sold – please be sure to check fork length recommendations.

5) Damage or failure due to accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect

6) Labour charges incurred by the customer for part replacement or changeover

Your warranty will be voided should you make any modifications to the frame or utilise components outside of the specification recommended by Bird (i.e. forks that are too long). Your warranty entitles you to a repair or replacement of the faulty item. While we will do our best, Bird cannot guarantee that original colour / graphic / specification options will be available. Bird reserves the right to supply alternative components to an appropriate specification where this is the case.

Claims made outside the country of purchase may be subject to fees and additional restrictions.

US CUSTOMERS – in the event of parts warranty, please note that any parts returned to the United Kingdom is at your cost. We strongly recommend that any warranty claim is dealt with by a local US service centre as this will reduce the cost to you. The turnaround time of dealing with the warranty is also likely to be shorter if dealt with by a local US service centre.
